7. 1 cup shredded Gruyère or Swiss cheese


8. Fresh thyme leaves for garnish


Recipe Method:


For the Galette Dough:


1. In a food processor, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. Add the cold, cubed butter and pulse until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.


2. Gradually add the ice water, one tablespoon at a time, and pulse until the dough comes together in a ball.


3. Shape the dough into a disk, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for approximately 30 minutes.


For the Filling:


1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).


2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced onions and cook, stirring occasionally, until caramelized. Add minced garlic in the last few minutes of cooking.
